Damage

Follow the fixed sequence: Scissors → Transplant → Scissors → Transplant → 3 random steps. Never use the taser, gun, or coffee during this sequence — any of the three results in instant patient death.

Tendril is the one encounter in the game where your usual toolkit actively works against you — the taser/gun/coffee instincts that save you everywhere else are the exact wrong move here. This is also the event referenced in the beginner mistake below: forgetting that Room 8's first surgery step is always IV drops, and that Tendril specifically bans the taser, gun and coffee, is one of the more common ways players lose a patient they were otherwise handling correctly.
