Animal Hospital Monsters — Damage & Counters

Beyond the anomalies at check-in, nine hostile entities roam the hospital itself. Here's where each one appears, what it costs you, and the counter that actually works.

Shapeshifter

Where / when

Disguised as a patient; reveals itself at check-in, mid-treatment or during recovery (often after muttering "I'm hungry..."). Rooms 1–8 and the front desk.

Damage

−6 sanity per 0.5s while attacking; a patient it kills counts as an animal death.

Counter

2 gun rounds or a taser. Bare-handed E-spam works but is slow (faster in groups). It's slower than you — kite it to the front desk taser.

Head Banger

Where / when

Shifts 2–5; slams the side check-in window and disables your shutter.

Damage

Shooing it without coffee = −20 sanity jumpscare.

Counter

Hand it a coffee (drink 2 sips first to net +10), or just let it smash the glass — takes about a minute and the damage is purely cosmetic.

Bed Monster

Where / when

Spawns randomly under patient beds (Rooms 1–5, 7); the red floor area is its grab range.

Damage

−10 on grab, then −5 every 2s; drags the patient to death in 30s if ignored.

Counter

Feed it Maple Syrup, an Organ or a Transplant; stay off the red floor. You can even lure a Hider into the red zone to feed it.

Stalker

Where / when

Hallway corners, lobby, surgery room — usually once per run. Flickering lights and a sound cue announce it.

Damage

−10 sanity on eye contact.

Counter

No kill method. Walk corners slowly, look at its legs instead of its face. Watching it through the office window costs nothing.

Hiders

Where / when

Wallpaper-like camouflage, spawns in groups of 1–6 in rooms and hallways.

Damage

Grabs you, steals the item in your hand and stuns you; −10 if caught empty-handed.

Counter

Fire extinguisher spray, taser, gun, lure it to a Bed Monster, or just keep distance until it despawns. Carrying a cheap 'sacrifice' item works too.

Ghost

Where / when

Spawns after a patient dies; floats through the whole hospital, goes invisible up close.

Damage

−2 sanity per second nearby (Ghostly Presence).

Counter

Spray it with the fire extinguisher to reveal it, then taser or shoot. Watch for doors opening on their own and white particles.

Mass of Eyes

Where / when

Shift 2+; ceilings of patient rooms and the front desk. Cue: "Don't look up" message and the room lighting changes.

Damage

−2 to −5 per 0.5s while you look up at it.

Counter

Simply don't look up — or hop onto the window ledge and hand it Eyedrops to pacify it.

Camera Figure

Where / when

50% chance to appear on a broken CCTV feed.

Damage

−20 jumpscare if you zoom in on it.

Counter

Switch or close the feed quickly; repairing broken cameras at the monitor station prevents it.

Tendril

Where / when

Random "Monster emerging" event after surgery in Room 8.

Damage

Kills the patient if you run out of time or make a mistake.

Counter

Fixed sequence: Scissors → Transplant → Scissors → Transplant → 3 random steps. Never use the taser, gun or coffee on it — instant patient death.
